What this site is

MedicareInsights is independent Medicare market intelligence built from named public CMS files. Automated pipelines pull the named CMS source files, AI-assisted analysis assembles them into decision-ready answers, and every published figure stays tied to the exact file, vintage, and method it came from.

The site exists because most Medicare market questions are answerable from public CMS data, but the answers are scattered across dozens of files, each with its own basis, vintage, and caveats. MedicareInsights does that assembly work once, shows its sources, and keeps every figure traceable so payer strategy, provider finance, market access, and diligence teams can cite it with confidence.

Editorial standards

Every figure carries its provenance. Each answer page shows the exact CMS source file, its vintage, the method used, and known limitations, from the same registry that powers the methodology page.

Data and interpretation are kept separate. Values labeled live or static extract come from named CMS files. Anything modeled or editorial is labeled modeled or curated and is never citable as CMS data.

Bases are stated, not assumed. Medicare penetration figures differ by denominator; every page states its basis next to the number (see the basis note).

Corrections. If you find an error, email us. Corrections are made in place and noted in the changelog.

Independence. The site is not affiliated with CMS, any carrier, or any vendor, accepts no sponsored content, and shows no ads.

Independence and transparency

MedicareInsights is not affiliated with CMS, with any health plan, or with any carrier, and it takes no payment for placement or coverage. Every figure comes from a named public CMS file that anyone can download and recompute.

That independence is only worth something if it is checkable, so the site publishes what most dashboards hide: the numerator, the denominator, the formula, the vintage and the date the file was ingested, on every important number. Where a figure is an estimate it says so and shows its inputs. Where a dataset has been withdrawn it stays visible in the methodology archive, labeled, rather than quietly deleted.

When we cannot source something, we remove it rather than restate it. Carrier counts and leading-carrier figures came off county pages for exactly that reason, and they will come back when the CMS contract-level file is ingested — not before.
